Hey peeps. I was in DB on 24th,went to c an oga dat I know there. While in hs ofis,I asked him abt d interview for those dat wrote in Lag dis dec. He called HR in front of me and de said dat de are not sure wen we will b called but dat it will b first quarter. So,just b prepared peeps,it may happen in jan or end of march. Just keep ur fingers crossed.
This is shaping up to be perhaps the longest thread I have seen on this forum. One thing I'm particularly impressed about is the camaraderie exhibited by all and sundry. Anyways, I got a text sometime last week inviting me for TS in Owerri, Jan 7th and I knew the time window wasn't adequate for me to resign appropriately as well as get a space to be accommodated during the 65 days and so I already knew I was sure going to turn it down. As fate would have it, Austin, the fair guy that vetted our credentials called me up sometime this week and asked if I got the sms, I responded in the affirmative and subsequently turned it down...he then said that they would return my name to the database pending when Lagos TS would be free which he confirmed would be sometime late next year. I quickly moved to tell him I was up for Owerri but definitely not for this batch and he said I would get called upon completion of this Jan 7th batch. So guy, the choice is really yours, if Owerri or Abuja isn't comfy for you at the moment and you already have something doing, I'd strongly advise you speak up. To those for Jan 7th, please accept my warmest regards and those who are yet to get the invites...luxlyangels, elbucho et al, I can guarantee it would come. Cheers y'al

@Vokocha, you welcome bro, nope...he didn't say the next batch of Lagos is sometime next year, he only said they had a backlog which had to be attended to in order to free up space for the rest. And that if I wanted to join the queue of lagos TS, den I'd have a long wait ahead of me. Hope that settles frayed nerves.
This is seriously serious! One mole, where did you have your test and interviews? I don't know if that assertion concerns those that had their test in march.
@lmao: my test was written in lagos, Idejo precisely...same place I had my interviews and I suppose it was in July, (now the july date isn't forthcoming at the moment). Nonetheless, I am of the opinion that those set that wrote much earlier would be the backlog he was referring to. So, if u wrote much earlier than I did, then, I bet you'd get called for lagos TS before I will.In other news...my status just changed to 'member'..hmm since Jan 2011. See what inactivity has caused me.
Heeey, Kinda sad you turned "7th January down" , I know you have your reasons but you should know accommodation isn't really a problem in that town. Anyways you already got something doing and you are not in a hurry. Would have been nice to see you in owerri. Compliments friend...Quote:

@yugo77, i dont know where to start. I called db hr on thursday. I believe i spoke with 'austin' referred to much earlier.we had a long conversation. He asked when i had my interviews, my medicals and even when i recieved the call and the name of the person that called me. He asked for my full name and phone number and from the breaks while we were discussing, i guess he was going through a list to verify if my name was there. Eventually, he told me that he had only one list with him of those meant for owerri ts beginning jan 7. He also said the list was of those who should have gone to lagos ts but had to be rescheduled to owerri because of backlog. As much as i was downcast, i just have to keep my fingers crossed because he said they would continue with owerri by march. The only scary part is that we all cant be in one batch. Thank God i didnt resign where i currently work.

I haven't been to any Ts before but I know you shouldn't trouble urself on which stationary to take along. They will provide everything you are going to make use of except your pen and note pad. :D

@waleuk, sorry about the delay in response, got caught up in the season. anyways, the way i see it, i am strongly of the opinion that you are at an advantage here cos i dont see a crime in being ambitious, you could tell them....'having worked in a smaller organisation as the MFB and garnered a healthy load of experience, you know it's time to move on to a bigger establishment (Diamond bank) which would afford you better resources as well as a far rewarding experience towards attaining personal and professional advancement. bearing in mind that you have a sound educational background in banking and finance that the time spent with the MFB was a perfect springboard to kick start your career with Diamond bank'.
but of course it is expected that you should be able to back up your claims and speak with confidence.
i hope you find that useful and of course this is subject to criticism from the house.

I was called by diamond bank again, after sending them a mail yesterday. the guy was asking me if I have done my medicals nd where I did it? I was so surprised, I told him dat I have done it in lag. I later asked him whether they haven't gotten my medical report? He said 'No dat maybe it part of the once they skipped dat he will get it 2day so I shudnt worry'. I now told him dat if it takes me going to the hospital to clarify myself,dat I would. he said he's already on it. He said he will get it. He finally said if he gets it 2day will I be able to do training schl wit those in owerri, I affirmed. He said he'll call me back tho. I'm jst saying dis because I feel I might not be the only one having this problem sort of. If I hadn't snt that mail I won't have known anything about this.

You are jst moving a step closer to attaining ur professional laid down career goals which is eg be the CEO of a multinational financial institution such as Diamondbank and been mentored by ur bank idols such as dem the interviewers, n... I just called them now, it is confirmed, The person who picked up said they moved all of us (Owerri peeps) to later in the year,march april...Those going for jan7th are the Lag ts hopefuls.
Well i can now rest and turn my attention to other better things instead of hoping for the text message invite on my phone day in day out....Congrats all.
