Job description

Responsible for safe team work with respect to all rig operations
Promote the principles of continuous improvement
Maintain good two way communication with team members at the rig and base
Coordinate the development of newly appointed senior team members landbase
Ensure regulatory compliance is properly maintained
Participate in company required and recommended training
Provide guidance and support to personnel as required
Ensure compliance with company's HSEQ Management System
Liaise with the client’s representatives, in the execution of contract obligations
Focal point for client representatives
Other duties as assigned by senior management
Work to keep personnel turnover to a minimum
Guide rig personnel in pre-planning upcoming jobs with materials on hand to ensure that all planned and unplanned opportunities are maximized
Maintain competent and capable rig crews and provide leadership in fostering the “safety-is-a-value” culture
Assist in annual budget preparations and cost control procedures and be accountable for rig operating budget results
Ensure that standards of supervision and personnel performance are monitored and communicated to rig crews through verbal communication and performance appraisals
Ensure equipment repair and returns are monitored and expedited and certification requirements met
Perform audits and rig inspections as necessary to maintain the highest operational standards
Ensure that interfaces to operator HSEQ programs are defined and understood by rig crews.
Support the provision of consulting and specialist services related to all aspects the operation of assigned rigs

Requirements:

Drilling Operations Manager will have minimum degree in Petroleum Engineering or any equivalent qualification
15+ years of experience in Supervising Shallow & Deep Water projects
