Role Summary/Purpose:


  • The Lead Field Manager demonstrates leadership in communicating business goals, programs, processes for an area or business segment. In this role you will utilize your experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and have the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals.



Essential Responsibilities:


  • Lead attentiveness to business needs to ensure on time delivery, increased productivity and control costs.
  • Direct and ensure the effective and coordinated completion of all service activities pertaining to the installation and maintenance of GE Vetco Gray equipment
  • Liaise with the Customer and coordinators to establish the schedule for the allocation of Service personnel for installation and maintenance activities
  • Generate Pre-Job Reports required to brief service personnel on scope of work prior to operations commencing and de-brief on completion of operations
  • Focal Point of contact on a daily basis for the customer and GE VetcoGray covering all aspects of onshore and offshore operational support
  • Build customer relations while driving safety and quality through an empowered regional operation
  • Drive growth & productivity while always adhering to the highest compliance standards
  • Obtain quotes for spares & new equipment and follow through to delivery
  • Administer staffing requirements, counseling and disciplinary action
  • Review performance evaluations and insures job positions are assigned according to capabilities of individuals
  • Responsible for all direct reports and assure that these personnel receive adequate review of their work progress, safety instruction as well as technical training
  • Develop local content according to a wider localization strategy.
  • Perform functions to plan and direct the required interface between the customer, field service and other departments along with providing appropriate technical assistance
  • Maintain intimate involvement with all critical entities to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Develop action plans for problem resolution and track progress
  • Directly manage the most critical field situations



Qualifications/Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in Upstream Oil & Gas sector
  • At least 3 additional years of experience in a Field Services managerial role or equivalent supervisory position in Oil & Gas sector
  • Experience working with Surface Wellhead & Flow Control products in both exploration and development fields
  • Proven experience in processes to develop quotation request,delivery tickets, service tickets, invoicing of products and services.
  • Highly resourcesful in managing and controlling cost in a manner that is productive / profitable both short and long term

  • Desired Characteristics:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Applied Sciences, or Engineering is preferred - Six Sigma training is preferred
  • Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Customer Service mindset
  • Prior experience managing employees is preferred
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Work experience in Africa is preferred
  • Can do attitude - Entrepreneurial skills
