A reputable training and consulting firm, located in Lagos wishes to advertise for the following position.
Executive Communications Officer
To create, implement and oversee communications and marketing programs that effectively describe and promote the organization and its products both internally and externally to its stakeholders.
Duties will include quality control and technical / IT support.
Essential duties and responsibilities will include the following
? Proofreading and editing of documents before distribution
? Delivering internal communications within assigned deadlines.
? Creating and implementing marketing strategies.
? Participating fully in the development and presentation of proposals
? Managing and working with internal and external business partners and vendors
? Updating the organization’s website, blog, and assisting with technological enhancements.
? Maintaining and developing the organization’s database of industry contacts, associations and consultants.
? Developing and maintaining an online (facebook, twitter, etc.) presence for the company using the latest communication gadgets and tools.
? Creating and applying various marketing management and public relations techniques in order to generate revenue.
? Assisting in planning, designing and coordinating the PR and communication campaigns for the organization’s trainings, conferences, workshops, retreats and seminars.
? Liaising with the organization’s PR agency to ensure the implementation of the client’s branding and communications strategy
? Keeping staff and clients up to date with company news
? Editing and organizing the production of documents
? Composing, designing and producing publications such as newsletters, leaflets and brochures
? Providing support to colleagues on all PR related activities.
Knowledge and Skills required
? Excellent written, spoken and research ability in English
? Proven ability to develop and manage relationships with a diverse audience
? Strong interpersonal skill
? Proficiency in developing business proposals
? Good knowledge of media tools
? Excellent communication, organizational and project management skills
? Proficiency in the use of MS Office suite. i.e. Word, Excel and PowerPoint
? Strong writing and editing skills
? Computer, desktop publishing skills, experience in web design
Education and/or experience
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Advertising, Communications, English Language, Journalism, Social Sciences or other related degree with a minimum of two (2) to three (3) years work experience in communications and information management, journalism/publishing or PR in a corporate environment. A post first degree qualification is an advantage.
Candidates should not be more than 28 years old by the end of June, 2012
