Business Sales Representatives

General Summary:
The Golden Pearl Newlife Nig. Ltd. is accountable for planning, actions and results which maximize
revenue, while building strong and productive business relationships through a variety of channels. The
position should effectively promote the MedCost value story while demonstrating exceptional
knowledge of self-funding, benefits plans, products and services. Develops and implements sales
strategies for targeted accounts in a specified geographic area and manages key distribution channel
partners/brokers.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
 Ensure product, pricing and services meet client’s needs while meeting revenue growth and
profit objectives
 Partner with the client to place an emphasis on enhancing the company’s retention and growth
objectives
 Ability to apply proficient skills in complex sales including presenting, negotiating, and
influencing
 Obtain new accounts through brokerage channels
 Expand distribution channel through building and managing effective broker partnerships
 Meet or exceed annual business plan as measured by new clients, revenue, membership and
profitability objectives
 Maintain prescribed weekly and monthly activity levels
 Manage the sales process for key products including Medical, Dental and Pharmacy, Care
Management and others
 Review and respond to Request for Proposal’s, manage internal strategy and present quotations
 Manage database of prospects and assigned producers, maintaining status and progress
 Develop new business opportunities and support business growth through consultative selling,
issue resolution and superior follow-up, responsiveness and service
 Apply consultative skills to identify and understand client current and potential needs and
support client business problem resolution by drawing from the full spectrum of product lines
illustrating a keen understanding of the client’s multifaceted needs
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
 Excellent interpersonal, sales, persuasion and follow-up skills both written and verbal
 Ability to communicate effectively with internal departments and external clients and brokers
 Exceptional relationship building skills
 Self-motivated and highly professional demeanor
 High Energy, self-motivation, drive to accomplish goals
 Strong team player, ethics and willingness to help others
 Healthcare experience preferred with knowledge of self -funding and benefits
 Proven track record of sales performance
 Knowledge of broker community and ability to develop relationships with brokers and clients
 Medical/Dental terminology knowledge
Credentials and Experience
 Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; Master degree preferred
 5+ years of industry and sales experience
 State issued Life, Accident and Health License or ability to obtain
 Excellent sales skills with the ability to close the sale
