Job Description
Stanbic IBTC Bank Plc is part of the Standard Bank Group. Stanbic Bank Nigeria was merged IBTC Chartered Bank PLC to form Stanbic IBTC Bank. The merger, by way of the first ever tender offer in Nigeria and a $525 million FDI.
Stanbic IBTC Bank PLC through its wholly owned stock broking and asset management subsidiary, IBTC Asset Management Limited has several excellent mutual funds including the IBTC Nigerian Equity Fund, which is Nigeria’s largest mutual fund with a net asset value in excess of N25 billion (as at December 2007). It is the only bank that has a direct subsidiary that is a pension fund administrator; through the market leading IBTC Pension Managers Limited (IPML).
Responsibilities:
Prepare monthly financial information pack consisting of an income statement, balance sheet and various supporting schedules for TPS.
Prepare monthly financial information for the teams and individuals within TPS.
On a monthly basis, consolidate financial information for inclusion in the CIB monthly EXCO report.
On a monthly basis, analyze and interpret the financial results regarding the performance of the sales teams, including product analysis on income statement and balance sheet levels, monthly variances and budget variances.
On a monthly basis, perform and review various reconciliations of information to the banking system.
Prepare and review monthly income statement and balance sheet commentaries to the Finance Department, TPS EXCO (in-country and Africa), TPS MANCO and CIB EXCO.
Analysis of management reports prior to EXCO and other meetings.
Prepare annual budgets and revised estimates in conjunction with the various business teams within TPS and ICB.
Articulation and preparation of TPS overall strategy and budget and business plan.
Liaison with Finance Departments in Group and Africa.
Prepare all business presentations and expected from TPS.
Comb deal pipelines of all TPS units (in country and Africa) and other departments in CIB and follow through on all leads.
Analyze effects of macro-economic factors on TPS business in particular and the Bank’s business in general and prepare relevant information for decision making
Enforce execution of business plan and strategic objectives.
Report regularly on deviations from plans and budget.
Manage business information and exchange between TPS and ICB.
Source and update current client information /intelligence and market information (industry knowledge).
Other management information related functions as the need arises.
Qualification/Experience:
Minimum of a 2.1 B Sc. (Honors) Accounting or Finance or Economics.
Member of ICAN.
At least 4 years financial accounting reporting and management accounting in the Finance department of a financial services organization, preferably a bank.
Understanding of corporate banking business.
Excellent communication skills.
Excellent analytical skills.
Dexterity in MS Office specifically Excel spreadsheets and financial modelling.
Excellent presentation skills, ability to prepare complex presentations using PowerPoint.
