why do we have critical people in the house, there is a better way to let the young man know he made a mistake, coz we all know it was, as for the 2.1, well let me bring it to the notice of "the kings of the knowers", its not all the time that the best chap gets the best placement, that is why you find certain people in places where you think they don't measure up to, yet the smarter kids cannot find their smart into such places. Make allowance for people, at times honesty,and humility out weighs competence. And come to think of it, if some of you feel too good and too smart why haven't any of these companies taken you supposed whiz kids.
My advice get the book " EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE" when you get it, do yourself and everyone a favour "READ IT"

Instead of u to point out d fact that this is a job search site and nt employer's website,u r playing mr nice guy in d name of constructive criticism. As 4 me am nt particular abt any typo or grammar mistake made bt am sick and tired of so called who post application on sites like this without taking cue from other posters even if they cant think 4 a second b4 posting.
