Nawa o this georgee guy again, must you comment on every thread?
-
Re: Aptitude Test Invitation from chevron Nigeria through Akinwumi Toyin
Georgeee is just allergic to traditional bastardization of the syntactic and morphological elements of English Language. I wil advice him though to go tutor in an adult education center so he can redefine d linguistic competency of Nigerian graduates. Georgeee georgeee!T

Re: Aptitude Test Invitation from chevron Nigeria through Akinwumi Toyin
Thanx Andy. We will try as much as possible to correct ourselves so dat u can at the end of the day get that dream job.
@All criticising me, imagine the OP commiting such blunder at the interview, what do u think will happen to his chances of landing the job? Well, i refuse to be part of ur hypocrisy. Oseluck, heed my word of advice and d job is urs. Believe me, there are lots of me out dia in interview panels. If y'all like, hit ur heads on the rock 10times, i do not care. U can check my other posts. Lets give honour to whom it's due and not the other way round.
I dey wait for una well well...lolz
-
Re: Aptitude Test Invitation from chevron Nigeria through Akinwumi Toyin
Chief OP, imagine if u come accross a question in eglish which says : Did any body in the house ****** the message?
A. Get
B. Gotten
C. Got
Am sure u will choose Option C.
These yeye hypocrites calling me names, instead of them correcting u are here doing follow follow.
When are we gonna stop being the architects of our own misfortune.
Exactly same thing in the Govt. Hypocrites everywhere.
They will see the ryt thing and ignore, but castigates whoever tries to correct it.
We can differentiate a typo error from a grammatical blunder.
Am waiting for someone to come out and say english is not his/her mother-tongue
-
@ georgee. You actually made me comment on this thread. Pls i wana advice you to stop criticizing ppl. As i go thorough ur comments, i see a lot of bunder. For example for u to say ''we try as much as possible to correct ourselves'' isnt correct. Its we try as much as possible to correct one another. No one is above mistake bro.
-
Re: Aptitude Test Invitation from chevron Nigeria through Akinwumi Toyin
I too like dis guy! Georgee my man.
-
Re: Aptitude Test Invitation from chevron Nigeria through Akinwumi Toyin
@Jidbeg,
What is this?????
Listen up bro, i can use ourselves if am referring to more than one person.
One another culd also be used if ppe involved are more than 3. Each other is only used wia only 2 people are involved.
So those of u goin for apt test, take note or u can wait to be corrected during the test or at the interview stage

Re: Aptitude Test Invitation from chevron Nigeria through Akinwumi Toyin

Re: Aptitude Test Invitation from chevron Nigeria through Akinwumi Toyin
See bro, i love learning as well if i see person wey go teach me. See me and jidbeg now sharing knowledge. Good move.
I meant to say one another is used if u ar referring to more dan 2 pple (i.e from 3 upwards)..
U guys shuld be fast with ur responses oooooo, cos i will soon be off the internet.
I dey wait
-
@ALL Hypocrites >Castigates HAHAHAHAHA
-
Re: Aptitude Test Invitation from chevron Nigeria through Akinwumi Toyin
George, It might have been a typo error or loss of concentration and it can happy to anyone cos it is a mistake. I do make such mistakes too though not deliberate and i know i am not dull.
Pls let us show respect for one another cos this just don't make sense to me..
-
Re: Aptitude Test Invitation from chevron Nigeria through Akinwumi Toyin

Re: Aptitude Test Invitation from chevron Nigeria through Akinwumi Toyin
George permit me to do a critical analysis and linguistic disection of ur post. U said: "...imagine 'if' you 'come' accross... Thats tautological and wrong use of tense. Imagine and if are both conditional words whch shldnt be used together. Conditional words take the past perfect tense. E.g if i were a boy... Imagine u won... So ur rite phrase shld be - imagine u came across or if u came across. Note also dat across is spelt wit a single 'c' not 2cs. U said: "...exactly same thing..". You didnt put a determiner which ought to be 'the'. So it shld read - "exactly the same thing". U said "..ignore.." u didnt add a complement which ought to be a preposition - it. So it shld read "ignore it". U said "...but castigates.." thats an xtreme bastardizatn of the common rule of concord. U used a plural nominal phrase 'They' earlier so u MUST use a plural verb. Ur phrase shld read - "..but castigate." without d letter 's'. So u take note of ur blunders so u dnt disgrace or smear d dignity of
-
of Nigerian graduates when u go 4 ur interviews. No offence intended bro. Just doin my own analysis. U ar stil my rite hand man. Georgee georgee!
-
Easy guys. Even interviewers in blue chip companies make mistakes! I have experienced this twice. Even the great Jose Mourinho makes mistakes because he is not a native English speaker. Me self dey fire gun o.
-
Re: Aptitude Test Invitation from chevron Nigeria through Akinwumi Toyin
Me sef dey fire gun as corrected by bro..DONF. Na so
gbo gbo gbo gbo
-
Nice 1 here, tanx 4 d lecture. Who can help dis guys out on wat 2 xpect?
@DONF any blunder in my statement? Lolz
-
The person who asked the question should expect the usual dragnet questions. Dragnet sets the same questions for all companies.
-
Re: Aptitude Test Invitation from chevron Nigeria through Akinwumi Toyin
Yes georgee we al fire gun as una yarn am and dats bcoz we are L2 speakers of d English Language not native speakers. We jst must try make our speeches socially acceptable and internationally intelligible. Oseluck's post was quite understandabl 2 al i presume so he shld be listnd to and given necessary assistnce. Though i must confess emphatically dat som ppl's representatn of d Eng. Lang is unpardonable unforgivable and unbearable especially wen dey ar graduates. I remember one Ugochima30 postin terrifying constructns here and MIB told me d guy is doin a Lebanese transliteratn. We are here to help oneanother and if we mst criticize in d name of corrections make we do am smal smal and politely. As Baba don yarn, nobody holy pass eh!
